National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme

The National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme is designed to introduce new and young climbers to climbing on artificial climbing walls in a series of five levels of increasing technical skills and knowledge.  The scheme is administered by the Association of British Climbing Walls (ABC) and is supported by DMM and the National Mountaineering Councils.

The scheme aims to accredit achievement in climbing and to provide a for development in the sport.  The scheme focuses on skills, knowledge, safety and requires the gaining of logged experience for completion.  It is open to climbers aged 7 and over.  The certificates awarded are not qualifications but accredit achievement in the sport of climbing.

At Hall Place we can offer Levels 1 and 2, with our excellent facilities and small group sizes we can ensure quality tuition and room to improve for all participants.  The levels are transferable so for those bitten by the climbing bug there are options to move onto higher levels at other climbing walls including Reading Climbing Centre.  We recognise that climbing appeals to all ages so we run children and adult sessions, with the skills base held at Hall Place we also can offer opportunities for progression onto rock at single pitch venues in the UK.
